Fine Motor Boot Camp: Building play, language, cognition & fine motor skills using simple everyday materials

$99 – $119Educators & caregivers are often “left in the dark” when it comes to fine motor & language interventions they can implement on their own. During this “hands on” workshop not only will you gain knowledge in these areas you will leave with many practical strategies & solutions on how to use little to no cost materials (i.e. dollar store, household, & office items) to build language, play, & motor skills.
There will be a strong emphasis on differentiating instruction to meet children at their developmental level with hands on experiences.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain knowledge surrounding the importance of play, language development & fine/spatial/visual motor development in early childhood
- Utilize simple/inexpensive/ recyclable materials to connect play, language, motor, visual and cognition skills.
- Administer and upgrade or downgrade activities based on student needs (differential instruction) to meet varying levels of students’ needs.
- Learn practical RTI solutions for fine motor & language.

9:00-9:45: Types of Play & Examples
9:45-11:00: What Really is “Fine Motor” (visual perception/spatial/ motor skills) & strategies
11:00-12:00: Expressive/Receptive Language Examples & Strategies
12:00-1:00: Lunch on Your Own 1:00-1:15: Gender Differences in Learning
1:15-2:30: Hands on Activities & Solutions Using Dollar Store Materials
2:30-3:00: DIY Activity
3:00-4:00: Dollar Store “HACKS” & and a few of our favorite things!
